Origin Story

What good comic doesn’t begin with a tragic origin story?

Once there was a woman who was broke. She had suffered heartbreak, emotional abuse, betrayal, and physical pain at her own hands. She had survived despite every attempt life had made to bring her down, and she wanted a change. She needed a hero, so that’s what she became.

Her superpower was seeing the good in everything she met. She was trusting to a fault and believed that her hands could heal emotional wounds. Her powers manifested in her ability to communicate with cats. She understood their needs and they trusted her. Her powers grew, but she needed help to refine them and found a mentor who encouraged her personal growth, ambitions, and helped to channel her powers with purpose.

Of course, what is a hero without a sidekick or a partner? Her right hand helped to keep the evil forces out of her way, so she could focus on her task at hand. She helped bring balance and justice to her dreams and handled all who opposed her.
Her supporters were few, but their skills were plentiful. First, was a master tracker who harnessed the power to soothe and heal with her energy. Next, came a bard who spread her deeds for the masses to see and refined her message into one of love and acceptance only. What followed next were people who wanted to help save more lives as she did, businesses that supported her cause, and people who took in the lives she had changed and even now provide them love and care.

I am this woman and these stories belong to those lives I have been able to save

Super Fur-iends Rescue was incorporated in October 3, 2017 as the nonprofit Tiny Lion Tamers. In April 2019, the IRS accepted our name change and update of our mission statement. From December 2017-May 2018 we went on a hiatus due to a lack of personal support, awareness, theft, threats, and forces that did all but break my soul. Aside from rehabilitating felines that society has written off as behaviorally unsound, physically unworthy, or mentally broken, my passion lies with living my truth. I will never claim to have done everything perfectly in the beginning, but the emotional manipulation I faced forced me to attempt suicide more than once in that time period. If not for the support of my friends and family I would not be here, there would not be an additional 230 cats (as of 10/10/20) in loving homes, and the sphere of awareness that this mission has brought to the public would not exist.

Simply put? Thank you for all of the support, thank you for reading, and thank you for being here.
